Lord, you have been our refuge through all generations.
Before the mountains were born, the earth and the world brought forth, from eternity to eternity you are God.
Lord, help us remember Your Providence in forming and guiding America. Help us remember that You have always been and will always be.
You turn humanity back into dust, saying, “Return, you children of Adam!”
A thousand years in your eyes are merely a day gone by.
Help us to remember that You are outside of time. Time has no constraints on You as it has on us.
Before a watch passes in the night, you wash them away; They sleep, and in the morning they sprout again like an herb.
In the morning it blooms only to pass away; in the evening it is wilted and withered.
Bless those who serve to protect us. Help our enemies to turn to the Light–You–and walk with You in communion with us.
Truly we are consumed by your anger, filled with terror by your wrath.
You have kept our faults before you, our hidden sins in the light of your face.
Help us to repent of our sins as individuals and as a nation–to admit them and turn to a fresh journey with You. Help us to be Your true followers.
Our life ebbs away under your wrath; our years end like a sigh.
Seventy is the sum of our years, or eighty if we are strong; Most of them are toil and sorrow; they pass quickly and are gone.
Help us to be wise in every encounter we have, understanding that those we encounter will someday stand before You. That we will someday stand before You.
Who comprehends the strength of your anger? Your wrath matches the fear it inspires.
Teach us to count our days aright that we gain wisdom of heart.
Help us to understand that You are loving, and You are just. Help us be wise.
Relent, O LORD! How long? Have pity on your servants!
Fill us at daybreak with your mercy, that all our days we may sing for joy.
Help us remember You each day. Help us look to You. Lead us to rejoice in You.
Make us glad as many days as you humbled us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
Show your deeds to your servants, your glory to our children.
Help us see Your face and Your hands–the work You do–in our lives and our world.
May the favor of the Lord our God be ours.
Help our nation to bless You once more. God, please bless America!
Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands.
Help all we do to honor You and shine Your light. Amen.
